// the process · from sketch to shipped

How it's made.

every Q.M.M. piece starts as a sketch and leaves as a signed, numbered edition. one artist, one room in Chicago. here's the whole thing, start to finish.

// 01 · sketch
Early Q.M.M. artwork design in progress

Sketch.

sketches on whatever's nearest. reference walls. cut-and-paste collage to find the form. if a piece doesn't earn a reaction here, it doesn't make it past here.

// 02 · model + print
Purple 3D print fresh off the printer in the Q.M.M. print bay

Model + print.

the digital step — modeling the piece, then the print bay takes over. PLA laid down layer by layer: objects, product runs, and filament paintings straight off the bed.

// 03 · paint + finish
Smoke, a mixed media painting by Q.M.M., worked by hand

Paint + finish.

print bay, paint wall, finishing station. sand, seal, paint by hand. mistakes get kept if they're better than the plan.

// 04 · sign + ship
Finished Grippy in its packaging, signed and numbered

Sign + ship.

sign, number, document — editioned in the same week. boxed by hand and out the door from Chicago.
